Bigger, Better, Boulder

Scottsdale| Boulders Resort & Spa

Who's ready to rock? Few resorts in the American Southwest capture the natural beauty of the region quite like this luxe property nestled among majestic boulder formations that morph in light and shadow from sunrise to sunset. Quiet, secluded and filled with adults-only enclaves, resorts like this offer endless opportunities for relaxation and adventure. Whether you prefer to golf, hike, climb the boulders or hang out at the adult pool for hours after a long massage, you'll find plenty to entice you to extend your stay for another day. 5 Reasons to Visit Boulders Resort & Spa

Picture
Adults-Only Spa PoolVisiting the warm climate of Arizona means year-round enjoyment of the pools. The resort's adult pool and jacuzzi can be found just outside the spa, fitness center and spa café for a zen-like retreat free from noise. Except the occasional whisper of cocktail orders to the servers attending to your every desire.

Boulders Spa

Spa treatments feature indigenous plants, herbs and other desert treasures for a truly local twist on massages, facials and other relaxation or beautification rituals. The locker rooms feature a spiral steam room, dry sauna and plunge pool. And like the fitness center, these areas are reserved for spa guests 16 and over. Even the spa café caters exclusively to those over 16, so you can dine in tranquility, too.

Floor-to-ceiling windows deliver impeccable views, ideal for soaking in the scenery while soaking up a craft cocktail or local brew. The cocktails here can be wildly imaginative, especially if you sit at the bar and have the bartender whip up something off-menu specifically tailored to your spirit preferences and flavor profiles. The only downside, they close fairly early. On second thought, that's a plus because sunrise hikes should never be embarked upon hungover.

Casitas
No matter how many people you're traveling with, you'll find an adobe-style Southwestern-influenced casita or hacienda to fit your needs. Single rooms, as well as larger accommodations of up to three bedrooms feature wood-burning fireplaces for warmth and ambience during the cool desert nights, as well as a plethora of other luxe features and amenities.

You don't have to travel far to find incredible Southwestern cuisine, but you will want to get a golf cart ride from the staff to this nearby cantina. It's one of the resort's restaurants, but it's located just off-site in a quiet shopping center. Tacos can't be beat, nor can anything containing a healthy dose of green chiles. Wash everything down with a signature margarita and you'll have the full experience from first bite to last sip.
In addition to writing about vacation experiences paid for with their own money, writers for Travel Like An Adult often travel at the expense of featured properties or destinations in exchange for coverage consideration. However, the Travel Like An Adult editors will never publish a recommendation for any reason if we do not find the vacation experience up to our standards. We provide honest feedback and will never recommend a place simply because we stayed there for free or at a discount. Similarly, sponsored posts are marked accordingly. Thank you!
